Ulogistics Officially Launches Its North American Operations

Ulogistics, a world leader in aerospace supply chain management, opened its new Montreal facilities on the 8 July, officially launching its North American operations.

Ulogistics' North American administrative offices and distribution centre are located in the industrial section of Lachine, at 2000, 32nd Avenue. Its state-of-the-art, 33,000 ft2 (3,066 m2) facilities have been designed to offer aerospace manufacturers advanced technological solutions for optimizing small component supply chain efficiency. The company invested $3.5 million (CDN) to set up the facilities and its technological equipment and infrastructure.

In attendance for the launch were representatives from the three levels of government, Brian McGowan, Chairman of Umeco plc (Ulogistics' parent company; London: UMC.L), Clive Snowdon, Chief Executive of Umeco plc, employees and representatives from the fields of aerospace, distribution and business, including officials from Bombardier Aerospace, client of Ulogistics.

"This is a big day for our company, which is now firmly established in Montreal within the North American aerospace industry," said Ms. Liliana Deisel, President of Ulogistics North America. We're very proud that we can build on ultramodern facilities, which will serve to optimize and add value to the information management of our clients' supply chain and distribution networks."

In January 2004, after signing a contract with Bombardier Aerospace involving the delivery of turnkey solutions for optimizing small component supply chain efficiency, Ulogistics launched its North American operations in temporary St-Laurent facilities. Today in Lachine, Ulogistics is serving Bombardier Aerospace facilities in the Montreal area.

Since Ulogistics started its activities in Quebec, the numbers of its employees has risen from 8 to 60. The company anticipates sustained job growth in the coming years.
